Pečene rdečke.

Sem vam že povedala, da ne jem nobene solate? Krompirjeva gre še skozi, ampak z malo kisa in res tanko narezano čebulo. Pred leti sem jedla toliko vrst zelenjave, da sem jih lahko preštela na prste ene roke.  Odkar pa sem pred tremi leti prvič poskusila pečene paprike, so se mi odprla nova zelenjavna obzorja. Kakor koli, pečene rdeče specialno začinjene makedonske paprike so, če še ne veste, preprosto za prste obliznit! Enkrat mesečno si jih nesramno privoščim,  saj smo jih septembra z ljubitelji (pušeljc štirih) pečenih paprik že tretjič tradicionalno spekli in slekli, tokrat 28 kil. Valda z ogromno ljubezni. Po bratsko smo si jih razdelili, zapakirali v paketke ter zamrznili za ozimnico.

In kako jih pripraviš? Po občutku jih začiniš s česnom, peteršiljem, balzamičnim kisom, olivnim oljem in sojino omako. Dlje kot so v paci, boljše so.
Jaz sem si jih privoščila s sveže pečenim, še toplim, domačim kruhom  in maslom. Pa ne pozabite na koncu, kar ostane, pomazati s kruhom!

Did I tell you that I don’t eat salads? Well, except a potato salad with only drop of vinegar and really thinly sliced onions. The same was with vegetables. But my first bite of red grilled paprika was crucial. Since then a totally new vegetable world has opened up for me. Last September was, we can say tradicionally, third year in a row that me and my friends ( four of us) grilled the best macedonian red peppers that we could found in our city. We grilled 28 kilos! And then we freeze them for the winter. Anyhow, these  grilled red peppers are sooo finger licking good that you should definitely try them.

So, how do you prepare them? Add garlic, parsley, olive oil, balsamic vinegar and soya sauce. They go perfect with warm homemade bread and a slice of butter. The longer they are in the sauce the better they get. And don’t forget that the most important ingredient is love!
